TECHNOLOGICAL SOLUTION FOR WILDLIFE PROTECTION.

Si-Coat 587 High Tension Siliconate for wildlife protection.

APLEIN INGENIEROS puts the silicon polymer SI-COAT 587 on the market.

It is an RTV ( room temperature vulcanizing) silicon compound which gives the coated elements an effective, high dielectric strength insulation to prevent short circuits in electrical equipment due to the action of wild life.

This prevents deaths of protected species and power cuts caused by electrocutions of animals, as well as short circuits caused by bird nests, etc.

Birds die in Spain from electrocution or collision every week. Electrocution occurs when birds perch on certain substations or towers of dangerous design.

Electrocution can be prevented using reinforcement, non-conducting materials or slippery materials to stop birds perching.

The main species affected by electrocution are birds of prey such as imperial eagles, Bonelli's eagles, ospreys or red kites,

and golden eagles, short-toed eagles, booted eagles, black kites, goshawks, buzzards, storks and eagle owls also die of electrocution.

Si-Coat 587 provides an effective solution because its strong adhesion to the protected surface which it gives strong electrical insulation makes the surface slippery and provides a finish which is highly resistant to the damage wildlife can cause.

Si-Coat 587's resistance to atmospheric and chemical agents is excellent, its hydrophoic properties and characteristics not being affected by UV rays, chemical pollutants, extreme temperatures, corona discharge or corrosive environments.
